How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Soil salinization is a serious threat to pasture livestock farming. The most promising solution to increasing pasture productivity is the use of microorganisms that support plant growth in saline soils. The aim of this study was to investigate the ability of salt-tolerant, free-living, nitrogen-fixing bacteria to fix atmospheric nitrogen and stimulate the growth and development of pasture grasses under high salt stress. Salt-tolerant free-living nitrogen-fixing bacteria were isolated from saline pasture soils in southeastern Kazakhstan, and their nitrogen-fixing and growth-promoting activity was studied. It was established that the bacteria are capable of actively fixing atmospheric nitrogen under high salt stress. Active strains were selected, and their effect on the growth and development of pasture grasses under high soil salinity was studied. The bacteria demonstrated a high growth-promoting capacity. When inoculating seeds with the bacteria: stem dry weight increased by 2.0 times, root dry weight by 2.5-3.0 times, and green mass productivity by more than 3.0 times. Thus, the use of salt-tolerant nitrogen-fixing bacteria is an effective method for increasing forage productivity in saline pastures. New effective bacterial strains could be used to develop biofertilizers for saline pasture soils.
