How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Based on radioactive release data for accident scenarios involving VVER-1200 and APR-1400 reactors, the dynamics of public radiation doses in the area of the planned Kazakhstan Nuclear Power Plant have been calculated. The calculations employed the internationally recognized RODOS decision support system, which integrates environmental transport and dosimetric models to predict dose loads via all exposure pathways. A conservative assessment was performed of population radiation impact indices and the areas requiring protective actions according to the dose criteria established in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The results demonstrate that the consequences for the public under all APR-1400 accident scenarios are significantly more severe compared to those for the VVER-1200 reactor. The findings of this comparative assessment can be regarded as a «radioecological argument» supporting the selection of the Russian VVER-1200 design for the Kazakhstan Nuclear Power Plant.
