Abstract
The article presents the results of archaeological excavations of a mosque located within the cult-residential complex of Doszhan ishan. The research was aimed at studying the architectural features of the monument and determining the stages of its construction. During the 2024 field season, excavations were fully completed: all interior rooms of the mosque were examined, the locations of all entrances and light openings were identified, the shape and structural features of the arches and domes were established, and architectural decoration elements in the form of various ornaments and texts from sacred scriptures were discovered. The results of the excavations made it possible to clarify the original appearance of the mosque and reveal the nature of its later reconstructions. The obtained data are of great importance for further scientific and restoration work on the monument, as well as for studying the specifics of the formation and development of cult architecture in the Aral-Caspian region.
