How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

The publication presents new materials of the petroglyphic complex Zhaman-Sarybulak, located in the eastern part of the southern slopes of the Sarybulak ridge of the Kyzylzhar mountain system. Rock carvings are placed on rock slabs with southern exposure in the upper part of the ridge on the right bank of the river of the same name. In total, about 80 images on 32 rock surfaces were recorded. The main group of petroglyphs (more than 50%) dates back to the Bronze Age, among which anthropomorphic, zoomorphic images and iconic symbols (“goggles” and “lattice”) are marked. Among the ancient petroglyphs of the Early Iron Age the images of animals – goats, argali, camels, horses, predators – prevail; the figures of an archer and a rider on a camel are marked. In the petroglyphs of the Middle Ages the images of riders on horses and equestrian standard-bearers, characteristic of the Old Turkic artistic traditions, stand out. The small cluster of rock paintings is of interest as part of the proposed complex of rock art monuments of the Sarybulak Mountains.
