How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

The publication considers the main results of archival and in-situ investigations conducted by the Ishim Archaeological detachment of the North Kazakhstan Archaeological Expedition (NKAE) in the western parts of the North Kazakhstan region. Work on the identification of settlements and other sites of archaeological complexes of medieval culture was carried out in two stages in the summer and autumn of 2023. Previously, a detailed acquaintance was conducted with the results of research related to the archaeology of the Middle Ages in general and extremely few settlements in particular. The most promising microregions for research have been identified. Descriptions and up-to-date documentation of the main discovered archaeological sites identified during the research are provided in the material. The condition of previously known monuments was monitored. A number of hypotheses are proposed to explain the extremely small number of medieval settlements in the surveyed region. A brief history of the study of sedentary culture is given, along with sources about the Middle Ages of Northern Kazakhstan. A thorough search and identification of medieval sites and settlements in the eastern part of the region will continue.
