How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively analyze how innovative forms of employment are transforming Kazakhstan's labor market in the context of deepening digitalization and post-pandemic economic recovery. Particular attention is paid to filling the existing gap in empirical data, which is characteristic of emerging market countries, where structural transformations of the labor sector remain insufficiently studied. The empirical base of the study includes official statistical data from the Bureau of National Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2020-2025, as well as analytical reports from the World Bank and the OECD. In addition, quantitative data was collected from a survey of 120 respondents, including 60 employers and 60 employees. The methods used—economic and statistical analysis and structured interviews—enabled a combination of macroeconomic assessment and an in-depth qualitative interpretation of labor market development dynamics. The results demonstrate sustainable employment growth (approximately +520,000 workers) and a decline in the unemployment rate to 4.6%. The share of self-employed individuals decreased from 27.1% to 23.5%, indicating the ongoing institutionalization of labor relations. The average monthly wage increased by nearly 40%, and the minimum wage doubled. Digitalization has led to significant structural shifts toward the service and information technology sectors, but the adoption of advanced technologies by businesses remains limited. Survey data revealed an imbalance of interests: 72% of employees express a preference for remote work, while only 55% of employers are implementing hybrid work models. A comparative analysis with international examples (Germany, Singapore) confirms progress but also highlights institutional gaps that require further reform. The research's novelty lies in the integration of macroeconomic trends, empirical survey data, and international case studies into a single analytical model, allowing for a holistic understanding of the transformation of employment in Kazakhstan.
