How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

This article explores the development of intercultural communicative competence among learners enrolled in tourism-related degree programs within the context of higher education in Kazakhstan. Based on the analysis of educational programs and the results of surveys conducted with both faculty members and students, the study identifies key challenges in teaching intercultural communication, including the absence of structured instructional methods and students’ low confidence when interacting with individuals from other cultures. The paper justifies the need to incorporate specialized courses and active teaching methods into the curriculum, aimed at fostering intercultural sensitivity and practical communication skills. The proposed approaches contribute to improving the quality of training for future tourism professionals and enhancing their successful adaptation in a global environment.
