How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

At present, the global network is one of the most powerful and significant information spaces capable of solving global issues. Speaking about its advantages, the Internet is interactive, which allows continuous, real-time dialogue with its user base. This is a major step toward universal globalization, as the Internet enables people from anywhere in the world, across different continents, to communicate with one another. Through the Internet, people from all corners of the world have ample opportunities to exchange experiences and communicate with friends or even complete strangers. However, while social media brings such benefits, it also raises ethical challenges. Social media platforms have access to vast amounts of personal data, and there are growing concerns about how this data is stored, collected, and used. Users must be fully aware of the risks of sharing confidential information. Social media platforms also facilitate the rapid spread of fake news, which can have dangerous and serious consequences. False information, hate speech, and cyberbullying can influence people’s decisions and beliefs. In this article, we will examine the potential issues and challenges that may arise in the media and discuss the need for individuals and society to address them ethically and responsibly.
