How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the social and cultural aspects of tourism within the framework of sustainable development. The study involved 250 participants, including 180 tourists and 70 tourism professionals. Data were collected using a validated structured questionnaire with a Likert scale and analyzed to identify trends and relationships. In addition, the research incorporated a review of international and domestic literature, an analysis of strategic documents in Kazakhstan’s tourism sector, and qualitative content analysis. The findings highlight the social, cultural, economic, and environmental impacts of tourism. Socially, tourism enhances local community engagement and strengthens intercultural interactions. Culturally, participation in ethnic and gastronomic tourism contributes to tourist satisfaction and supports local cultural identity. Economically, tourism promotes investment, generates employment opportunities, and supports entrepreneurship. Environmentally, sustainable tourism practices, including the preservation of cultural heritage and environmental protection, are essential for long term development. The results provide practical recommendations for the development of socio-cultural tourism in Kazakhstan, emphasizing increased community participation, cultural heritage preservation, economic benefits, and environmental sustainability.
