How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

In the context of increasing globalization, a foreign language acquires increasingly complex functions that go beyond simple communication codes. It becomes an instrument of intercultural interaction, reflecting ethnocultural characteristics of speech practices and cognitive models of different communities (Bazeeva, 2021). This article analyzes mechanisms by which a foreign language functions as a mediator of cultural exchange and as a factor in forming ethnocultural competence. Cognitive, pragmatic, and sociocultural functions of language are highlighted, as well as problems arising in intercultural communication: linguocultural barriers, pragmatic mismatches, and meaning stereotyping (Neretina, 2021; Kot’, 2022). Special attention is given to pedagogical aspects – integrating an ethnocultural component into foreign language teaching to enhance communication effectiveness. The results can be applied in linguodidactic programs, intercultural training, and professional development of specialists working in multilingual environments
