Abstract
Diesel consumes less fuel and therefore emits less carbon dioxide into the atmosphere than a petrol engine of the same power. But the fine soot particles it emits are considered particularly harmful to humans. The authors propose the use of ultrasonic radiation in a device for cleaning the exhaust gases of diesel internal combustion engines from solid particles and reducing their toxicity. A diagram of a modular ultrasonic silencer and the results of the experiment are presented. In accordance with the purpose of the study, the article presents a research method. The physical meaning of the process of cleaning diesel exhaust gases is described and an analysis of known patents related to this topic is presented
