How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

This article examines the pressing issues of transition to a circular economy in Kazakhstan. The objective of the study is to identify the specifics of this transition and determine measures to establish the key elements of a circular economy in the country. Article highlights the specific conditions of Kazakhstan, including the level of socio-economic development and the country's capabilities, the availability, extraction, and processing of minerals, the structure of industrial production, population density, territorial factors, and the socio-cultural characteristics of the population. It is demonstrated that these conditions are hindering the transition to a circular economy in Kazakhstan. The main reason for this is the worsening environmental problems in the country and the influence of global experience in transitioning to a circular economy. The article analyzes the main content and evolution of the relevant legislation and regulations. It is noted that it is integrated into the development of a green economy in the country and does not contain a separate law or the necessary policy documents on a circular economy. The article presents the key characteristics of this economy in Kazakhstan, which are compared with positive examples from global experience. Waste management issues in the country are also considered. The article identifies the key steps and process features of Kazakhstan's transition to a circular economy. It concludes that the country is in the initial stages of developing a circular economy, with only a few elements already in place. Overall, the pace, scale, and results of the transition to a circular economy in Kazakhstan have been comparatively slow. Therefore, proposals are made for improving the effectiveness of this transition, considering the country's specific characteristics and the potential for implementing global practices.
