How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

As Kazakhstan confronts the imperative of energy transition, this study elucidates strategic pathways to fortify its energy market through phased renewable integration and fair policy to support green energy. Kazakhstan's energy sector is characterized by a heavy reliance on hydrocarbons, particularly coal, which has significant implications for greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution. Despite efforts to transition to clean technologies, the country faces numerous challenges. This study employs PEST analysis to systematically evaluate the political, economic, social, and technological factors impacting the adoption of renewable energy in Kazakhstan. The research focuses on external macro-environmental factors and contextualizes findings within recent geopolitical and economic developments. This study identifies best practices from energy markets of leading global players (the European Union, the United States, and China) and evaluates their applicability to Kazakhstan. The study highlights the imperative for legislative enhancements, infrastructure modernization, and financial and insurance reforms to foster investment and stability in the sector. It also underscores the necessity of public-private partnerships and educational initiatives to boost societal engagement and support. Technological innovation is pinpointed as crucial for optimizing energy management and advancing toward carbon neutrality. The findings propose actionable policy recommendations to reduce Kazakhstan's reliance on fossil fuels, increasing resource efficiency, and achieving sustainable energy development. This research aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the barriers specific to the renewable energy market in Kazakhstan and inform policy decisions that promote a low-carbon transition.
