Abstract
The results of in-situ testing of the acoustic monitoring device «RIPAS» conducted in a conveyor drift of a coal mine in the Karaganda Basin at a depth of 600 m, are presented. The methodology is based on recording acoustic signals and subsequent data processing to identify zones of stratification, stress concentration, and to evaluate the effectiveness of rock reinforcement. The obtained results revealed local anomalies indicating potentially hazardous areas of the rock mass and confirmed the prospects of applying acoustic technologies to improve the accuracy of outburst hazard forecasting and to enhance industrial safety. The use of «RIPAS» provides real-time diagnostic capability for assessing rock mass conditions and serves as a basis for optimizing reinforcement, degasification, and ventilation schemes
