How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

This study investigates methods for forming hydrophilic and superhydrophobic surfaces using plasma jets at atmospheric pressure. The primary focus is on ensuring the waterproofing of fabrics by creating superhydrophobic coatings. The influence of plasma on the structural and chemical characteristics of the treated materials was analyzed, along with the impact of key technological parameters, including discharge power and the composition of the plasma-forming gas. In the experiments, argon (Ar) was used as the main gas flow, while hexamethyldisiloxane (HMDSO) vapor served as the precursor. The hydrophilic properties of the surface were examined after one and ten treatment cycles using plasma in an argon flow at a rate of 40 mL/s with a power of 200 W under atmospheric pressure. The experimental parameters for the formation of the superhydrophobic coating included a discharge power of 200 W, an Ar flow rate of 40 mL/s, and a gas mixture flow rate of Ar + HMDSO at 20 mL/min. After plasma treatment, the contact angle was measured to evaluate changes in surface hydrophilicity and superhydrophobicity depending on the treatment parameters. The results confirmed the effectiveness of plasma modification for controlling the hydrophobic properties of materials. Furthermore, the stability of the coatings in contact with various liquids was investigated.
