How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Extreme solar events, such as flares accompanied by coronal mass ejections (CMEs), perturb the Earth's magnetic field and generate fluctuating currents in the ionosphere and magnetosphere. In this study, we describe the heliogeophysical conditions during the magnetically disturbed period of 21-26 June 2015 on the basis of satellite and ground-based observations.Variations in the solar wind, interplanetary magnetic and electric fields, the planetary Kp index, and geomagnetic field components measured at a mid-latitude observatory are analysed. The storm of 22-24 June 2015 represents one of the strongest geomagnetic disturbances of Solar Cycle 24 and provides an important example of a geoeffective CME.
