How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Noctilucent clouds, which develop in the summer months mainly over the polar regions of our planet, are often observed in temperate latitudes. Moreover, it is these parts of the global field of mesospheric clouds that determine their total area and spatial configuration. As has been shown in a number of previous works, the features of the seasonal and interseasonal evolution of mesospheric cloud fields are largely determined by meteorological processes in the mesosphere. The influence of geophysical fields on their development is also possible. The work describes the stages of developing a methodology that allows us to move from studying the integral characteristics of mesospheric clouds to its differential characteristics. At the initial stage, it is planned to search for the presence of a longitude structure of such clouds. To do this, 30-degree longitudinal sectors are identified on satellite images of noctilucent clouds fields, within which the cloud area is calculated. Solving this problem requires the development of specialized software. A significant part of the work is devoted to the describing of the algorithm for constructing the program, choosing a programming language and implementing the task. The effectiveness of the newly created software product is compared with previously implemented approaches. It is shown, that the created technique for processing satellite images will make it possible to identify longitudinal inhomogeneities in the structure of noctilucent clouds global fields with significantly greater accuracy.
