How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Based on data regarding the snow water equivalent, daily average air temperatures, and daily precipitation values obtained from meteorological stations in the East Kazakhstan Region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, calculations of the temperature coefficients of snowmelt have been performed. The study was based on long-term observations, which increases the reliability of the identified patterns. The analysis allowed for the identification of the features of both spatial and temporal differentiation of this coefficient, as well as the establishment of possible causes for its variations. Probable errors arising during the calculations were identified, and the prospects for using the obtained results to determine the maximum snow water reserves in the study basin were considered. It was established that the nature of snowmelt is influenced not only by daily average temperatures and precipitation amounts. This underlines the need to further expand the range of parameters considered and to improve the methodological approaches to estimating snow water reserves. The conclusions drawn may prove useful for water resource planning and flood forecasting under changing climatic conditions, as well as for optimizing the region’s hydrological models.
