How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Sand manifestation in oil and gas wells of Kazakhstan remains a pressing issue that significantly hinders their reliable and efficient operation. This article analyzes equipment failures occurring during well operation under conditions of high mechanical impurity content and proposes possible solutions. As the object of study, the causes of rod screw pump (RSP) failures at the Karazhanbas, North Buzachi, and Kumkol fields were examined. The results showed that the main cause of failures is sand manifestation, accounting for up to 51% of all cases. The article proposes a method to prevent the formation of sand plugs by creating a bottomhole sand collector at an optimal depth. Economic analysis demonstrated that this technology significantly reduces repair costs and extends the inter-repair period of well operation. The effectiveness of the proposed solution is confirmed by field data and detailed calculations.
