How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Despite extensive research on conventional deep learning architectures, there is a notable gap in the exploration of Convolutional Kolmogorov-Arnold Networks for real-world image classification tasks. This study investigates the application of a custom Convolutional KAN architecture for lung cancer subtype classification using histopathological images—a critical step for early diagnosis and effective treatment planning. The approach described in this research paper achieved 96% accuracy, supported by optimizations such as vectorization during training. For comparative analysis, baseline models including a custom CNN and a ResNet-18 were also evaluated. The promising performance of the Convolutional KAN model underscores the potential of less-explored architectures in advancing medical image classification.
