How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

This work presents a simulation of the dam break flow process in the L-shaped bended channel. The numerical results of the dam breach simulation demonstrate the behavior of the flow in a channel with bend. To validate the numerical model, dam break process was simulated in an L-shaped channel, which were used to demonstrate the high accuracy of the proposed numerical method. The results illustrates that the proposed numerical approach can be used for precise and efficient assessment of the consequences of dam breaches. The main objectives of the research are to improve a numerical simulation for study of floods and inundations caused by dam breaks. For advanced research in fluid instabilities, turbulence modelling, and multi-phase flows, the L-shape introduces flow separation zones, instabilities, and air entrainment. These simulations can be used by engineers to design flood mitigation features, such as baffles or stilling basins near bends, and optimize channel geometry to minimize energy loss.
