How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

The article examines regional differences in the level of Internet penetration in Kazakhstan for the period from 2018 to 2023. Statistical data obtained from official sources are analyzed using time series and comparative analysis methods. It was determined that, in general, the level of digital accessibility in the country has increased significantly, especially in areas such as Karaganda and Akmola regions, where a noticeable increase in Internet infrastructure has been identified. However, based on the analysis, it is shown that in a number of regions, such as Atyrau region, the level of Internet penetration remains below the national average, which indicates digital inequality. Changes in the use of the Internet by household members have been reviewed, and a decrease in the popularity of downloading content and participating in social networks has been revealed, indicating an increase in interest in using the Internet for commercial purposes such as online shopping and searching for information about goods and services. The results of the study highlight the importance of further efforts to improve digital infrastructure in regions with low Internet penetration. Areas for further research have been identified, including the integration of new technologies and improving the quality of Internet services in remote areas of Kazakhstan.
