How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Wild boars (Sus scrofa) play a significant role as natural reservoirs of various infectious agents and parasites, which poses a threat to veterinary medicine and public health. The aim of this paper is to investigate and systematise data on the spectrum of viral, bacterial and parasitic infections associated with wild boars, with emphasis on their epidemiological risks and impact on human and animal health. The paper highlights the existing gap in epidemiological data for Kazakhstan, where there is insufficient information on population size, migration routes and prevalence of infections in wild boar. The review covers key pathogens such as African swine fever virus, brucellosis, trichinellosis and hepatitis E virus and emphasises the need for a multidisciplinary approach to monitoring, diagnosis and control of these diseases. Biosecurity measures and prevention strategies are discussed, including improved monitoring systems and the introduction of innovative diagnostic methods to better manage wild boar populations and protect public health. The paper emphasises the importance of understanding the epidemiology of zoonotic diseases and ways to minimise risks to veterinary medicine and public health.
