How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

The role and status of English in Kazakhstan is often considered in the context of governmental language policy and language planning implemented in the republic. Being historically a multiethnic, multilingual, and multicultural country in Central Asia, the Republic of Kazakhstan, since the late 2000s, has expanded national language policy formula including not only Kazakh and Russian, but also English. English has been primarily assigned to assist the Kazakhstani state in achieving sufficient competitiveness to fit in the international economy. All three languages in aggregate are needed to represent Kazakhstan as the intelligent nation in the world arena. Therefore, English has become an integral part of educational reforms in Kazakhstan as well as being regarded as the language of international and business communication in the framework of developing Kazakhstani citizens' linguistic capital.
