How this score is calculated

It is built from checkable properties of the record itself: whether the article has a DOI, how many independent sources confirmed its data, whether the required fields are filled in, and how recent the latest confirmation is. Disagreement between sources and a missing identifier lower it. A value of 80 or above means the record was published without further checking; 60 to 79 means it is published at reduced confidence, with a manual check advisable. A record verified by an editor by hand is never pushed below 90 by a recalculation. This scores our data about the article, not the article itself.

Abstract

Beams of electrons confined in space are widely used in technological operations on welding, cutting, surface treatment. During the passage of electrons in matter, redistribution of beam energy losses occurs. The results of energy loss modeling using the Monte Carlo method presented in this paper demonstrate the redistribution of energy losses in the volume of the substance. There is an increase and then a decrease in energy loss as the electron beam moves deeper into the material. In the direction perpendicular to the beam axis there is an ex- pansion of the energy loss region and then a decrease in the diameter of this region. The presented calcula- tions well explain the results of synthesis of refractory dielectric ceramics. The redistribution of energy losses in the substance determines the morphology of the synthesized samples.
