The purpose of this study is to identify symbolic models in the discourse of English and Kazakh folk song texts and to demonstrate their common and distinctive features. To determine the study’s theoretical conclusions and directions, I identified the concepts of "discourse" and "song discourse" the differences between text and discourse are presented in tabular form. The phytonym symbols of roses and tulips, characteristic of the two linguocultures, were chosen as the research material. From the discourse of the English folk songs, a discursive analysis of 14 rose lexemes was conducted, and eight symbolic models were identified. From the discourse of the Kazakh folk songs, 22 tulip lexemes were analyzed, and six symbolic models were identified.
