ABSTRACT The study analyzes the role of international mediators in resolving contemporary conflicts in the post‐Soviet space, Central Asia, and the Middle East. The purpose of this research is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the effectiveness of various strategies of international mediation in the context of an evolving geopolitical landscape. The study examines the theoretical foundations and contemporary approaches to international mediation, exploring various mediation models, including the facilitative, evaluative, transformative, and narrative models. Particular attention is given to assessing the effectiveness of mediation efforts in conflicts such as Nagorno‐Karabakh, Syria, and Russia‐Ukraine. The findings reveal a significant evolution in mediation approaches, shifting from traditional models of neutral mediation towards more comprehensive strategies. The study underscores the critical role of cultural context and the necessity of considering historical factors when formulating conflict resolution strategies. The research highlights the need to develop adaptive approaches to international mediation to effectively address the challenges of complex geopolitical situations.
