2015 was said to be the year of the migrant as over a million refugees and asylum seekers entered Europe, leaving their homes in rush and fear. Their wish to make a better and safer life outside their country is very often associated with their desire to provide themselves and uppermost their children with quality education. To learn and acquire the language of the host community may thus be a priority as strong linguistic and communicative skills are essential for the future life of newcomers. However, the educational process may not always be easy for the migrants or for their teachers and educators. This summary attempts to introduce some difficulties migrant students may be met with as well as some of the contributions they may introduce. It also strives to guide those who teach or assist in multilingual and multiethnic classes and face challenges arising from a multicultural environment.
