Plants of the genus Limonium (Plumbaginaceae family) are represented by 300 species world-wide and 18 in Kazakhstan. Two species L. gmelinii and L. myrianthum are held in stocks exceeding 50 thousand tons in Kazakhstan. The first plant, Limonium gmelinii , was intensively investigated. Therefore, the object of our research is to study Limonium myrianthum as a promising source for potential biologically active compounds of Kazakhstan origin. Fractionation of alcoholic crude extract of the root of L. myrianthum resulted in the isolation of four compounds, which were characterized structurally as 3,5,7,3',4',6'-hexahydroxyflavone-3-rhamnoside (1), 4,4'-dihydroxydihydrostilbene (2), 6,7-epoxyhydrocarbon (3), and 1,3-bis(p-hydroxyphenyl)propane (4) Figure 1. Compound (1) was identified as a new constituent, while the other three compounds were isolated for the first time from a natural source. Fig. 1: Structure of compounds 1 - 4
