The article is devoted to the study of the labour market for persons with disabilities. The article considers the legal framework in the sphere of employment of persons with disabilities in the territory of Kazakhstan. The article analyses the specific weight of persons with disabilities (LSI), which decreased from 2019 to 2022 from 3.76% to 3.63% respectively and increased in 2023 and amounted to 3.64%. The authors studied the dynamics of changes in the number of registered LSI and unemployment rate for 2022 and 2023 in the context of regions of Kazakhstan. Thus, the analysis has shown an increase in the number of people living with HIV in 2023 compared to 2022 in many regions of the country, and a decrease in the unemployment rate. For example, in Karaganda region the unemployment rate was reduced from 4.4% to 4.1%. Further in the article analysed the dynamics of employment of working age LSI in Kazakhstan, which showed that 2020 and 2021 was recorded the lowest percentage of employment of LSI in the country, but from 2022 again increased from 24.8% to 25.3%. As the analysis showed, the main factors that influenced the decrease in unemployment are the increase in the number of SMEs, changes in legislation, reforms in social policy, including the adoption of the Social Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 20 April 2024 instead of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities in the Republic of Kazakhstan".
