Energy security is a state of security of the country, its citizens, society, state, economy from threatsto reliable fuel and energy supply. These threats are determined both by external (geopolitical, macroeconomic,conjunctural) factors and by the actual state and functioning of the country’s energy sector.Energy security is the most important component of the national security of Kazakhstan. Ensuring nationalsecurity is one of the main tasks of energy policy. The growth of demand for electricity is influencedby such factors as population growth, urbanization, electrification of production and life. The demandfor electricity is associated with the growth of the World’s population. With more than a billion peoplenow without access to electricity worldwide, the efforts of major developing countries will be the mainsource of growth in electricity demand in this direction. The aim of the work is to study the theoreticalfoundations of energy security and improve the energy security system. The relevance of the topic liesin the fact that at the present stage of development of society, the regulation of energy security is strategicallyimportant for any economic system. Ensuring and increasing the level of safety of the fuel andenergy complex is conducive to socio-economic development and improving the quality of life of thepopulation. It is difficult to imagine modern life without heat, light and gas. Normal functioning of theeconomy is impossible without it.
