In experiments to study lithium sputtering in noble gas, a target with a deposited lithium layer is placed in the path of the electron beam. The lithium layer during bombardment by a pulsed fast electron beam is heated from 300$\mathbf{K}$up to 900 K. Analysis of obtained results allowed determining a temperature dependence of luminescence intensity, as well as promising mixtures of noble gases, atomic transitions for conducting in-pile experiments at a pulsed nuclear reactor.$2\mathbf{p}_{6}\text{-}1_{\mathbf{S}4}$and$2\mathbf{p}_{6}\text{-}1_{\mathbf{S}5}$transitions of xenon atom seems to be the most promising to create an inverse population.
