The article presents the development of a highly selective and sensitive electrochemical sensor based on composite nanomaterials of silicon carbide (SiC) and coke-derived carbon (CDC).A notable feature of this fabrication process is its simplicity, which allows for a straightforward approach to creating the SiC@CDC nanocomposites that form the core of the sensor. The structural characteristics of the modified material were thoroughly analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS).To assess the sensor's performance, the concentration of lead ions (Pb²⁺) in aqueous solutions was determined using differential pulse stripping voltammetry, a technique well-regarded for its sensitivity and selectivity in detecting heavy metals. The findings demonstrated that the recovery rate of the sensor ranged from 83.38% to 111.7%, which indicates a strong reliability in measurement capabilities.Furthermore, the standard deviation observed in the results from three parallel experiments was consistently low, at less than 0.2%.In conclusion, the synthesized SiC and coke-derived carbon nanocomposites exhibit significant potential as effective electrochemical sensors for detecting lead ions in various aqueous environments.Their reproducible results, coupled with the straightforward synthesis method, position them favorably for meeting the rigorous demands of actual analytical applications in the field.
