In the present work, the high-temperature corrosion interaction of chromium beryllide with a steam–argon atmosphere under conditions of successive thermal cycling was investigated using TGA/DSC. It is shown that repeated thermal exposure leads to a systematic shift of the temperature regions corresponding to the maximum mass-change rate toward higher temperatures, which indicates an evolution of the kinetic response of the material and a pronounced effect of accumulated thermal exposure. Visual inspection of the sample surfaces after each thermal cycle did not reveal the formation of a loose white oxide layer typically associated with breakaway oxidation and abrupt mass gain. An Arrhenius-based approach was employed for the quantitative evaluation of the process rate, allowing the determination of effective kinetic parameters within limited temperature intervals. It was established that the obtained values of the activation energy and the pre-exponential factor are of an apparent nature and reflect a transition of the corrosion process from a regime of active interaction of a fresh surface to a higher-energy kinetic regime.
