Introduction. Gear pumps (GPs) are among the hydraulic machine components most frequently requiring repair. In Kazakhstan, limited repair equipment complicates the manufacturing and restoration of these parts. Additive manufacturing (AM) offers a promising solution for improving repair efficiency. Purpose of the study. The study evaluates the feasibility of using fused deposition modeling (FDM) to manufacture and restore gear pump components. Materials and methods. A gear shaft was fabricated from PLA using an FDM based Raise3D Pro Plus printer. Its mechanical performance under operating loads was assessed by finite element analysis in SolidWorks. Results. The simulation showed that the printed gear shaft withstood operational loads. The maximum stress was 18,45 MPa, remaining within the allowable limits for PLA. Stress and deformation values confirmed the part’s structural reliability. Discussion. The findings demonstrate that FDM can be effectively applied to the manufacturing and restoration of gear pump parts, reducing dependence on conventional repair technologies and supporting agricultural machinery maintenance. Conclusion. The study confirms that FDM-based additive manufacturing is a feasible approach for producing and restoring gear pump components. The printed gear shaft met the required mechanical performance, demonstrating the potential of additive manufacturing to improve repair efficiency in the agricultural sector.
