The relevance of the problem of ventilation in mine workings lies in the fact that mining operations are constantly moving in space and time, changing their shape, size, and position, with significant collapses and subsidence affecting ventilation. The article proposes the use of active regulators in the ventilation flow control system, which will create explosion- proof working conditions in the mining area with a reciprocating ventilation scheme through a coal block. With this ventilation scheme, in conditions of very gas-rich strata and high lava productivity, dangerous concentrations of methane may accumulate in the outgoing jet. The general mine ventilation scheme does not allow for safe methane concentrations in the lava. To prevent the formation of explosive methane concentrations, local ventilation fans (LVF) can be used in combination with an air duct. The aim of the study is to justify the use of LVF as an active regulator to reduce the methane concentration in the upper corner of the lava to safe levels.
