Amelanchier Ovalis Medik. (Rosaceae) is of interest as a source of phenolic compounds and other bioactive constituents, although evidence concerning its chemical composition, extract production, and pharmacological properties remains fragmented. This review aimed to systematize data on the phytochemical profile of A. ovalis, analyze extraction approaches, and propose a science-based framework for extract standardization considering the available preclinical evidence. A critical review of original studies and regulatory guidance available up to 10 July 2026 was performed. Studies directly characterizing A. ovalis raw materials or extracts were included in the qualitative synthesis. Fruits and hydroethanolic extracts are the best-investigated materials. Hydroxybenzoic and hydroxycinnamic acids, chlorogenic acid derivatives, quercetin and cyanidin derivatives, organic acids, sugars, sorbitol, tocopherols, and unsaturated fatty acids have been reported. Water and 50% ethanol extract a substantial proportion of the polyphenolic complex; however, direct comparison between studies is limited by differences in plant origin, pretreatment, extraction conditions, and reporting units. Antioxidant, antimicrobial, and cytoprotective effects have mainly been demonstrated in chemical or cellular in vitro models. Clinical evidence is lacking and toxicological characterization remains insufficient. A multi-attribute standardization strategy is proposed, combining verified botanical identity, a defined extraction solvent and drug–extract ratio, chromatographic fingerprinting, quantitative determination of several analytical markers, and control of purity, stability, and reproducibility of relevant biological activity.
