The use of the RIPAS acoustic tool to detect violations in the mines of the Karaganda coal basin at a depth of 650 m in front of the mine is considered. The studies carried out have shown that the analysis of acoustic signals makes it possible to identify areas of increased rupture and compaction of the array, which are not fixed by traditional geomechanical and visual methods. On the basis of spectral and time dependencies, two anomalous zones are distinguished – near (4-7 M) and far (~50 m), which are interpreted as sites of tectonic disturbances. The results confirm the effectiveness of the acoustic method for local forecasting of hazardous areas and increasing industrial safety. It was proposed to use the results of RIPAS in conjunction with microseismic and gas-geochemical studies, which will increase the accuracy of the forecast and reduce the risk of dynamic phenomena during mining operations
