This study examines potential autonomous energy sources for remote monitoring devices installed on power transmission lines (PTM). A brief overview of existing power supplies for remote monitoring systems is provided. For each type of existing power supply sources of monitoring systems, the characteristic disturbing effects that occur during their operation were analysed. Experimental studies of the energy characteristics of the induced energy were carried out on a PTM – 500 kV gantry type support. Experiments were conducted to evaluate the induction of electromagnetic energy from live ground wire cables to metal elements of power transmission poles. It was found that the induced voltage in the circuits is about 3 V. The analysis made it possible to design variants of power supply schemes adapted to disturbing factors and aimed at the stable functioning of power supplies for remote monitoring systems
