Over the past few decades, the substantial development of various polymeric materials has occurred in a wide range of electronic and energy device applications due to their customizable electrical properties combined with exceptional mechanical properties. Electrically conductive polymers (CPs), which possess high flexibility, excellent processability, and cost-effectiveness, are considered attractive materials for electronic applications. Recent research has focused on designing high-performance materials that leverage the unique electrical properties of nanomaterials alongside the advantages of polymers as hybrid nanomaterials. The incorporation of nanosized fillers significantly enhances various properties of polymers, such as electrical conductivity, mechanical and thermal stability, and flame retardancy. From a materials perspective, the advancement of high-performance polymers and hybrid nanomaterials has drawn attention due to their ability to meet specific application demands. Therefore, this chapter provides a comprehensive overview of various synthetic techniques and the applications of CPs and hybrid nanomaterials. This chapter will also discuss the known difficulties and challenges in designing polymeric hybrid nanomaterials and their electronic applications.
