The most dangerous issue concerning environmental pollution across the globe includes air pollution, which is due to the high level of contamination. Nanotechnology is also putting forward groundbreaking solutions to overcome the challenges of breaking them down by creating nanocatalysts and air purification systems based on nanotechnology. Nanocatalysts contribute to environmental remodeling through photocatalytic, Fenton-type reactions, electrocatalysis, adsorption-desorption, and redox processes. They have high reactivity and selectivity as well as a high surface area, making them efficient in breaking down pollutants. Other applications, nanocoatings, nanosensors, and nanofilters, enhance the detection of pollutants, with strength as well as efficiency in the process of purification. The materials may be incorporated into even higher air-cleaning equipment in the cascade type of nanomaterial-based filters. Notwithstanding the prospect, there exist difficulties in the stability of nanomaterials, environmental safety, and scalability. Current research also seeks to come up with sustainable, reusable, and effective nanotechnological solutions to long-lasting air pollution management.
