The article analyzes in detail the role of emotional intelligence in improving the professional competence of future teachers of primary education. The structural components of emotional intelligence (EI), their relationship with professional effectiveness and significance in the professional activity of a teacher are determined. In the course of the study, the N. Hall questionnaire was used, the level and components of students ' AI were analyzed using quantitative and statistical methods. This method identifies five key components: emotional awareness, emotion management, self-motivation, empathy, and recognizing others’ emotions. Survey results showed that 55.2% of participants demonstrated low EI levels, while only 15.5% displayed high levels. The lowest results were observed in emotion management and empathy, indicating the need for developing emotional and professional skills in future teachers. The development of EI is particularly important for primary school teachers, as they help to shape students’ emotional literacy and create a positive atmosphere in the classroom. The article highlights that developing EI skills enhances resilience to stress and improves effectiveness in both professional and personal life. Furthermore, the need for special training and methodologies aimed at developing EI is emphasized, as these skills positively influence the educational process and improve the emotional climate in schools.
