ABSTRACT Wards with special functions and closure will have a higher risk of viral transmission as aerosols are an important mode of transmission for the SARS‐CoV‐2 virus. In this study, an experimental platform was built to establish the relevant parameters of the aerosol model and the aerosol propagation model according to the experimental results. According to the physical model of various ventilation modes and single and multiple human bodies in the infirmary, the diffusion and migration process of the flow field, temperature field, and aerosol particles under the influence of different ventilation modes, ventilation volume, and human thermal plume were studied. The results show that the ventilation mode of downward supply and upward exhaust will have a better effect on aerosol particle diffusion inhibition, which can achieve the goal of a high aerosol particle removal rate in a short time and can inhibit the large range of diffusion and migration of aerosol particles. The ventilation system with 15 air changes per hour (ACH) ventilation can achieve better comprehensive effects in suppressing indoor aerosol particle diffusion in this study.
