The results of comparative tests of insecticide efficiency on potatoes against Colorado potato beetle in conditions of West Kazakhstan region are presented. The effectiveness of vegetative treatments with preparations is noted. Studies conducted in 2019-2021 on plantings of potato variety, Gala, showed high biological efficiency of preparations. The preparations provided a long-term protective effect against both adult Colorado potato beetle and beetle larvae and eliminated the need for treatment in subsequent periods of vegetation of the crop. When using insecticides against adult and larvae of Colorado potato beetle, the 162assimilation surface of leaves increased, but not always equally, compared to the control on average for 3 years by 2.5 times. When applying insecticides against adult insects and Colorado potato beetle larvae, the assimilative surface of leaves increases, but not equally in all variants. The use of insecticides allows controlling the number of pests, which helps to increase yields. It is especially important to use insecticides at the beginning of vegetation, when plants are most vulnerable to pest attack. By protecting plants from pests, the likelihood of damage to tubers and stems is reduced, resulting in a higher quantity and quality of yield. Pests such as the Colorado potato beetle can destroy the leaves of the plant, which disrupts photosynthesis and reduces the number of tubers produced. Insecticides effectively protect potatoes from such pests, which reduces yield losses and increases yield. This article presents data of the results of the study on yield and on the effect of biological efficacy of insecticides on the development of Colorado potato beetle and the degree of damage to the above-ground part of potato plants
