The article studied the influence of environmental factors on sugar sorghum in the seven–field crop rotation, the precursor is a layer of perennial grasses. The research was carried out in the fields of the Ural Agricultural Experimental Station LLP. Sugar sorghum belongs to crops that tolerate a hot climate and a shortage of fertilizers well. In the harsh conditions of the West Kazakhstan region, the cultivation of such a crop as sorghum is a promising solution to replenish the feed base. One of the main tasks of the risky farming zone is the accumulation and rational use of productive moisture. Humidity is a limiting factor in our region. The main difficulties faced by the crop industry in growing crops is the lack of drought-resistant varieties with good biological characteristics to obtain high yields. Thus, the article studied the timing and methods of sowing sugar sorghum. The best sowing period is the second decade of May, the sowing method is wide-row with a row spacing of 45 cm. With this method of sowing, the seed consumption is less than with ordinary sowing, and the yield does not suffer, it is also possible to carry out processing between rows, which improves the properties of the soil. The climatic conditions of the region also play an important role in creating yields. In our studies, with an average rainfall of 89 mm and an air temperature of 24 °C, the growing season of sugar sorghum averaged 97 days over the years of the study
