This study examines the anecdotes of Nasreddin Hodja, one of the most prominent humor figures in Turkish folk literature. It analyzes the position Nasreddin Hodja holds among the people and the social, moral, and cultural values reflected in his stories. It is emphasized that his anecdotes serve not only to amuse but also to provoke thought, encourage questioning, and educate. Hodja’s approach to humor is deeply intertwined with the everyday life of the people, allowing individuals to reflect on themselves and society. The wit, quick thinking, and subtle humor in his stories have kept Nasreddin Hodja alive in public memory for centuries. Accordingly, this study evaluates his role in folk culture, the messages of his anecdotes, and their relevance to contemporary values.
