The article aims to show the connection of the Kimaks with the Turkic tribes based on archaeological data. Today, the study of the culture of ancient Turkic tribes is one of the urgent problems of archeology in Kazakhstan. For comparison, the archaeological sites of the Bronze and Early Iron Ages have been studied better than the Turkic period. The purpose of the work is to show the connection of the Kimaks with the Turkic tribes based on archaeological data. Since the Kimak khaganate consisted of various Turkic tribes, the funerary monuments are also heterogeneous, and the influence of neighboring tribes is also observed. Both jewelry and toreutics found in the mounds indicate that the Kimak tribes had their own unique style, but the similarities with other Turkic tribes such as the Kyrgyz and Karluks are also noticeable. To achieve this goal, the work uses mainly historical, comparative, and typological methods. As a result of the research, it can be seen that the study of archaeological sites of the Kimak period allows us to collect new information about the Turkic tribes, their worldview, spiritual and material culture. In addition, it is possible to prove known facts from written sources. Currently, the monuments of the Kimak period are still full of unresolved issues.
