In recent times, it has been evident that significant efforts have been devoted to fabricating superamphiphobic polymeric surfaces due to their unprecedented nature of repellent to both polar as well as nonpolar liquids, which imparted in the use of self-cleaning processes, anti-icing surfaces, anti-fogging agents, antibacterial treatments, and friction generating surfaces, etc. Furthermore, the fabrication of superamphiphobic polymeric surfaces is very important as it determines the application by tolerating vital imposed stresses of heating, pressure, mechanical forces, and chemical coefficients. The key parameters determining the fabrication methods for superamphiphobic polymeric surfaces are chemical compositions and roughness. Considering careful attention to fabrication methods, this chapter focused on conveying the knowledge of the fabrication of superamphiphobic polymeric surfaces that meet the operation sequence to various techniques in which roughening and surface modifications are unequivocally involved. As such, this chapter will emphasize a complete investigation of these two steps on the substrate; the fabrication strategies can be discussed as following three classifications: (i) post-modification of pre-roughened substrates, (ii) post-roughness of pre-modified substrates, and (iii) introducing surface superamphiphobicity in a single step. Understanding the appropriate fabrication methods and strategies to produce superamphiphobic surfaces meeting many diverse conditions and distinct applications is imperative. Nevertheless, acquiring appropriate fabrication methods and pilot scale synthesis limits the practical use of these superamphiphobic surfaces. Therefore, these known challenges and further perspectives to overcome them are discussed in this chapter.
