The development of students ' self-regulation skills in the process of media education is important for controlling impulsive behavior, effectively organizing time management, critical thinking, the ability to control their emotions and for their activities in the digital space. And in this regard, digital etiquette, being a set of rules and norms governing behavior on the Internet, includes respect for others, security, the avoidance of aggressive actions, consideration of intellectual property and compliance with the right to privacy. The proposed article examines the relationship between self-regulation skills and digital etiquette in the process of media education and describes the impact of these issues on the development of personal and professional competencies of students. The research work was organized within the framework of the grant project AP19679344 “research of the scientific and methodological foundations of the formation of network communicative culture and digital etiquette of teachers and students in universities” and covered 669 respondents. The questionnaire is based on determining students ' opinions about the impact of internet use on emotional and psychological states. The results of the survey showed that students try to follow the digital etiquette rules. However, some gaps have been identified in the practical application of digital etiquette as a means of developing self-regulation skills, indicating the need for additional research. Based on the theoretical data of the study and the results of the survey, the authors proposed ways to implement digital etiquette in the development of students ' self-regulation skills in the process of media education.
