In this article, the importance of forming moral qualities in students through musical art is considered. Currently, the issue of focusing on the sphere of art in the way of spiritual and moral development of the individual is being raised. After all, music and art have always been the only source of spiritual development of the individual. Therefore, moral education through musical art occupies a central place in the problem of humanization of modern schools. The purpose of the article is to identify and analyze the significance of the manifestation of moral values in various examples of musical art used in the educational process, ways to form moral qualities in students. The main research methods of the article - a review of research and pedagogical works, to determine the educational value of folk music and its moral qualities and values, to analyze and select samples of folk music. On the basis of the works of teachers-scientists, researchers who have studied the genres of musical art folklore music, folk music and moral qualities, moral values, recommendations are given to select samples of folk music used in the formation and development of moral values and determine their educational significance. In order to identify the types of musical art that have great educational experience, examples are given and analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the importance of using music and folk music in the education of future generations was determined, and we noticed that they are an indispensable tool in moral education.
